Question 1

Is BandBliss really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every feature is free for ensembles with up to 25 active members. Larger ensembles choose a paid plan sized to their roster (up to 50, 100, 150, 200, or 300 members).

Question 2

What kinds of ensembles is BandBliss for?

Accepted Answer

Community orchestras, concert and marching bands, choirs, jazz ensembles, chamber groups, and any other organized music group with a roster, a calendar, and gear to keep track of.

Question 3

Do my members need to create accounts?

Accepted Answer

Members get a welcome email and sign up with the same email address, and their account links to their member record automatically. Admins can use everything even before members sign up.

Question 4

Can members see each other's contact information?

Accepted Answer

No. Contact details are private between each member and the admins. Members reach each other through the in-app Inbox instead.

Question 5

Can I import my existing roster and inventory?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Members, patrons, sheet music, and equipment can all be imported from CSV or Excel files with a guided column-mapping step.

Question 6

Can I export my data?

Accepted Answer

Always. Reports → Export gives you CSV downloads of every category: members, events, attendance, dues, music, assets, messages, and more.

Question 7

Does BandBliss process dues payments or sell tickets?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. Dues tracking is built in, including assessments, balances, reminders, and payment instructions (Venmo, PayPal, check, etc.), but money changes hands through your existing methods. Payment processing is on our radar.

Question 8

Can one person belong to multiple ensembles?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Play in the orchestra and sing in the choir? One account covers both. Switch ensembles from the header menu.

Question 9

Who can administer our ensemble?

Accepted Answer

The owner has full control including billing. The owner can grant admin access to other members under Settings → Team Access; everyone else gets the member portal.

Question 10

Does my ensemble get a website?

Accepted Answer

Yes, every ensemble gets a free public website. You pick your brand color and which sections to show (about, events, conductors, members, open positions, contact), and the content updates automatically as your events, roster, and leadership change. Public events even get their own pages with an audience RSVP form.

Question 11

What happens to a member's history when they leave?

Accepted Answer

Mark them as a Former member: their attendance, dues, and records stay in your archives, they stop counting toward your plan limit, and portal access ends.

Question 12

How does AI work with our music library?

Accepted Answer

Two ways. When cataloging, AI can suggest the composer, arranger, duration, and difficulty from a piece’s title. When planning a concert, describe the program you want and the AI program builder drafts a set list from your own library. You always review and edit before anything is saved.

Question 13

How do I get help with something not covered here?

Accepted Answer

Email support@bandbliss.com. We read everything.
